Incorporating AI in the Workplace: A Conversation with Gaia Montelatici and Nenad Moslavac

Lorenzo Meriggi / August 15, 2020

Recently, Francesco Rulli, Global CEO of Querlo, had a conversation with Gaia Montelatici, Founder of Studio X Ventures, and Nenad Moslavac, Co-Founder and CEO of Impact Hub Belgrade, about the challenges and opportunities in the covid era and the role of Artificial Intelligence in the future.

Studio X Ventures is a startup studio and venture capital fund that works to craft startup models for markets of scale. They focus on gender-diverse teams in industries related to digital media, online collaboration, and impact solutions.

Impact Hub Belgrade is a community of startup teams who work on solutions relevant to the global market. The company was started in 2014 by a group of entrepreneurs, startup founders, and angel investors to enable them to connect with one another. They currently have 90 locations across the world.

Gaia began by discussing the challenges that covid has created for communication. People were forced to transfer their experiences, bonding, and relationship skills from what used to be more personal to the digital tools we have to use today. With Zoom calls, it is much more difficult to connect with people, and it can be much harder to concentrate. As we continue to use technology to interact with one another, it is important to figure out a better way to increase engagement.

Looking ahead, Nenad sees hybrid models of interaction playing a large role in businesses and AI will be very important for that. AI has traditionally been seen as destructive in workplaces because many people feared that they would be replaced by technology. However, our current situation has created a better understanding of what we as humans can do and when we should rely on technology. In the future, Nenad believes that AI will continue to improve so we don’t have to spend as much time on repetitive and meaningless work and can focus on what we are good at.
