How Can Companies Adapt in this New Era: A Conversation with Brianna Carney

Lorenzo Meriggi / June 30, 2020

In continuation of Querlo’s interview series, Francesco Rulli, Global CEO of Querlo, spoke with Brianna Carney, Co-founder of CrewBloom, about the challenges that COVID-19 has created and the opportunities that might arise in the post-COVID era, as well as the role of Artificial Intelligence in the future.

CrewBloom is a remote outsourcing company based in the United States that helps affordably connect businesses with remote professionals across the globe. The company caters to industries such as merchant services, advertising, ecommerce, Fintech, and insurance.

COVID-19 has had a massive impact on the workforce as many people have been furloughed or laid off. Additionally, people have become dependent on technology to carry on with their day to day lives. Brianna noted that many challenges have arisen as companies must determine where to cut costs after a substantial loss in revenue. However, there are still opportunities that can emerge as we continue to adjust and adapt to this new era.

When asked about the role that Artificial Intelligence might play in the future, Brianna discussed how it takes time for organizations to adapt to implementing it. Additionally, Artificial Intelligence is something you have to invest in and the cost of adopting it and radically changing the processes and workflows within an organization can’t be done right away. However, given that we’ve overcome radical changes as a result of COVID-19, Brianna believes that people are going to be more open-minded to approaching business in a completely new way. Organizations are being forced to really look at what’s needed and what can be done through technology and then implementing new innovative processes. At CrewBloom, the staff is confident that the dependence on onshore talent and resources is going to continue to dwindle over time.
